Does a harsh shift mean the gearbox needs rebuilding?
Not automatically. Fluid condition, software adaptation and control faults can cause similar symptoms. The assessment separates these from internal wear before major work is discussed.
Should I drive the car to the workshop?
If the gearbox slips, bangs into gear or shows a warning, ask first. Driving can add damage, so transport from DIFC may be the safer option.
